Snow, Snow and MORE SNOW!

So, for those of you who are following this from Alabama, I know everyone thinks it snows here all the time, but usually it doesn't. We usually get alot of 2-3 inch snows, but not this year. We have been here 12 years and I don't know that we have ever had so many storms one right after the other. I am going to try and put a timetable to this so you can see our progression. Our first big snow was the night of the National Championship game. GO BAMA! We were very glad we got that snow, because we stayed up until 12:30 watching the game, so the kids didn't have to go to school. We got about 8" that day. That snow melted and January seemed to be a little warmer than normal. Moving on to February. February 5th we got about 13". We were able to make a snowman (something we can't always do, because our snow is so dry). Here is Abby hugging the snowman. The kids had a great time playing in the snow, and made some huge snowballs. Three days later we got another 10" or so. The kids had a good time playing then too. You can see Cory pulling Abby on the sled with the 4-wheeler. In the picture to the left. Now, we have gotten another 8-9", (honestly I'm about done counting how many inches), let's just say it's a lot and I'm tired of shoveling. Thank goodness we have a very good neighbor that comes over sometimes and uses his snowblower to clean our driveway. Usually it's not to bad to shovel (like I said we usually only get 2-3" at a time), but shoveling 8+ everytime was getting VERY old. Now, the pictures below are some I took today. Please notice our snowman, yes it is the same snowman, he has just been covered by more snow. As you can probably tell, we won't be grilling anytime soon!
You will notice the piles on either side of the driveway and our sidewalk. Some of them come up to my hip. The kids are now to the point that they could care less if they go out and play in the snow. It is supposed to snow another 2" overnight tonight, and now they are saying they are tracking another "winter storm" for this coming Sunday-Monday. Yeah! :( So, that is the update for now from here and like I said it is snow, snow, and more snow.

Christmas & New Years

We did something different this year for Christmas, we actually stayed here in Ohio. It was really nice. While we did miss getting to see family in Birmingham, it was really nice to stay here and relax. We stay so busy all the time, that this was nice for us. We were able to do things with friends that we never have time to do, the kids were able to play with their friends and show them what they got for Christmas, which they were excited about. The kids only were not out of school long, they went all the way up to Dec. 23rd. I am having trouble getting my pics from Christmas to post, so they will come later, but it was great! It is amazing as each year goes by how quickly time seems to go even faster. It seems like yesterday we were sitting waiting to see what happened when we rolled over to 2000. That was 10 years ago, it seems like yesterday. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2010!

Abby & Cory, Happy Birthday!

For those of you who know better, you know that Abby and Cory's birthdays are 7 months apart. I just realized that I never posted any pictures from Abby's birthday.
Cory's Birthday! He had several of his friends over for his birthday. We went and played glo-putt, then came back to the house to play and spend the night.

A little brotherly help!

Brady played goalie during one of his soccer games. Since Cory has played goalie before he went out during half time to give his little brother a few pointers!

We had a real combination of trick or treaters! Cory felt he was to old to dress up, but he still wanted the candy. So, we found him this pancho and sombrero, he had a mustache too, but we forgot to put it on before the picture. I have a feeling this is what we will him in for several years to come. Abby just had to be a witch, which I was not happy about. But, I finally gave in, and let her be a witch, on one condition. She had to be a good witch. I thought we would never find Brady a costume. He didn't want to be anything to "babyish", but he still wanted to dress up. We finally found a suitable ninja costume, and we were done!

We went home for Thanksgiving this year, which is different than we typically do. Although many are disappointed that we are not coming home for Christmas, we still had a good time. Since the Alabama/Auburn game was over Thanksgiving we had to make pictures of everyone in their Alabama attire! These are the cousins all dressed up.

Cold morning for soccer

Cory had a very early soccer game earlier this fall. There was tons of frost on the ground, and we were bundled up tight. I think this is one of the cutest pictures of Brady and Abby.

It's been a while!

I knew it had been a while since I had updated this, but I didn't realize it had been this long. I just don't seem to have enough time in the day to get everything done. If anyone figures out how to add more hours in a day, please let me know. These were pics from the first day of school!

Brady's turns 8!

A day at the farm. This is also right after Cory got his braces off. Now all everyone says is, "he looks older."
